    Mini Steel Band Camp



    The mini steel drum camp at Bethel College is the only program of its kind in Kansas. Brad Shores is one of the leading composers and mini steel drum clinicians.

    What to Expect

    Students will arrive at Memorial Hall at Bethel College on June 14 at 10 a.m. for registration. The rehearsal times are 10 a.m. - noon on June 14-16. The camp will conclude with a concert on June 16 at Memorial Hall at 10:30 a.m.??

    The rehearsal will involve group practice on the steel drums to prepare songs for the concert. History of the steel drums as well as cultural issues will also be covered.

    Eligibility

    The camp is open to students that have just finished 3rd or 4th grade in May. No experience is necessary and the instruments are provided. Students do not need to know how to read music.

    Costs

    The cost of the camp is $49 and is due by May 30. Registration must also be received by May 30. Camp is limited to 12 students.
